Deputy Commissioner, Golaghat Dr P Uday Praveen chaired a meeting to review the progress of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in Golaghat district in the conference hall of DC office today. During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner took a detailed review of the work and progress of Functional Household Tap Connections(FHTCs) for providing drinking water under the JJM scheme in the district. He instructed to all concerned officials to speeding up the works under JJM so that the target can be achieved within the stipulated period. The meeting was attended by Dr Sangeeta Borthakur, ADC, Shri Madhab Nath, EE, Golaghat PHE division, Shri Arup Hazarika , EE, Bokakhat PHE Division, AEEs of Golaghat, Sarupathar, Bokakhat and Dergaon PHE sub division & other concerned officials.
It is worth mentioning that Jal Jeevan Mission, a flagship programme of Central Government aims to improve the lives of rural people by providing safe drinking water to every rural home through household tap connections by 2024.
